Hilleary Leads the ‘PAC’ When it Comes to DeLay
Republican Senate candidate Van Hilleary appears to be Tennessee’s chief beneficiary of political action committees controlled by indicted former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. Hilleary, a former congressman and gubernatorial candidate has received more than $17,000 from DeLay since 1994. Former Congressman Ed Bryant, who’s opposing Hilleary in the GOP Senate primary, took more than $11,000 over the same period, according to the Commercial Appeal.
