Campfield Seeks to Join Legislative Black Caucus
In one of the more bizarre developments of the 104th General Assembly, freshman Republican State Representative Stacey Campfield, of Knoxville, tried to join the Legislative Black Caucus. The Knoxville News-Sentinel reports that Campfield, who is white, made his request to State Representative Johnny Shaw, who chairs the Black Caucus. The unusual move has legislative observers scratching their heads. Shaw, for his part, shrugged off the request. “Stacey Campfield is a strange guy,” Shaw told the News-Sentinel. “That’s the best I can say.” Click here to read the full report.
Both Democrats and Republicans know Campfield as a prolific blogger who recently was forced to evict his longtime roommate following news reports that revealed the man was a registered sex offender.
