Bredesen, Tuke Urge Hurricane Relief
Dear Friends: This week, millions of our neighbors in Louisiana and Mississippi suffered the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. Some were forced to abandon homes and businesses. Others stayed behind, only to face devastating loss and injuries. Untold numbers of lives have been lost and communities ruined. Now, it’s time to rebuild and recover. Each of us has a responsibility to do what we can to help in the relief effort. The American Red Cross is a great place to start.
Donate to the Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org/ . Volunteer with the Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org/where/chapts.asp.
The Red Cross already is moving people and resources into the region to help. Donations will provide clean water, food, and shelter for disaster victims. The Red Cross web site also has important information for victims and their relatives across the country. We’re still waiting to learn the full extent of the devastation. But it’s not too early to act. Please help now. Thank you.
Governor Phil Bredesen and Chairman Robert D. (Bob) Tuke
